Kansas Attorney General Sues Pfizer

The state of Kansas has officially announced it is filing a civil suit against the Pfizer Corporation under the Kansas Consumer Protection Act; claiming Pfizer made “misleading and deceptive statements” while marketing its Covid-19 Vaccine.

Kansas Attorney General, Kris Kobach, stated that much of the information leading to this lawsuit was a result of a previous FOIA lawsuit, “seeking information from Pfizer that still had not been made public.

AG Kobach lists the following as the 4 most egregious examples of how the Kansas public were mislead:

  • Pfizer Marketed its Vaccine as Safe for Pregnant Women

  • Safety Related to Heart Conditions Such as Myocarditis

  • Effectiveness Regarding Variants

  • Transmission of the Virus

More than half of the 458 women reported an adverse event, and more than 10% reported a miscarriage.

According to the complaint filed on June 17th, 2024 in Thomas County District Court, Pfizer misled the public about the safety risks of the vaccine, along with its claims the vaccine protected against COVID variants, though data showed otherwise.  Pfizer also suggested its vaccine prevented transmission of the virus, though it later admitted it had never actually studied whether it prevented transmission or not.

The complaint filed by Kobach and Deputy Attorney General Fran Oleen, Assistant Attorney General Kaley Schrader, and Assistant Attorney General Melanie Jack, also alleges Pfizer coordinated with social media officials in order to censor online speech that was critical of its vaccine.

In February of 2021, Pfizer already possessed reports of 458 pregnant women who received Pfizer’s COVID Vaccine During Pregnancy.

More than half of the 458 women reported an adverse event, and more than 10% reported a miscarriage.  Therefore, at least 45 of the women reported having a miscarriage – many within days of having received the vaccine.
